Permissive paths prepared for opening

It was always our intention to open pathways inside the hedges where roads with no footpaths form our boundary. These are narrow country lanes well-used by walkers, joggers and cyclists. These will now be open to the public from Sunday 20 August 2023. The access point nearest Kelsale village is at the junction of Butchers Road with Bridge Street. We hope other local landowners will follow our example. We have found out that by registering a simple Deposit of Statement and Plan under s.31(6) of the Highways Act 1980 with Suffolk County Council you can prevent any risk of accidentally creating a permanent Public Right of Way.
